Project Theatre seeks Board Members (Trustees)
Dates: Ongoing until February 2020 (AGM)
Part of: Board of Trustees
Report to: Chair of Trustees
Role type: Voluntary
Deadline date: Ongoing
Project Theatre is looking to strengthen our Board of Trustees through the appointment of more board members to join our current board of 3.
Board members are responsible for maintaining the overall strategy and objectives for the organisation and monitoring performance in partnership with the Artistic Director and the company is looking for a mix of skills and experience to match our needs. Applications from people who have experience in the arts, creative industries, business, working with young people, charity governance, fundraising, finance and marketing would be particularly welcome.
Project Theatre is an award winning Scottish performing arts organisation that celebrates the energy, experience and potential of all young people. Established in 2008, the company provides a platform for young people to express themselves, be creative and creates live theatre and performing arts experiences driven by our Positive Performance approach. Project Theatre is the only performing arts organisation in our local area working in this wide ranging way and has established a reputation for high quality, diverse work which reflects an eclectic range of performing arts styles underpinned by pushing boundaries and challenging stereotypes.
The organisation currently produces at least two productions a year and offers training development opportunities for young people throughout the year via classes, workshops and community projects.
Project Theatre is funded by donations and grants and currently has the management structure of Board of Trustees, Team Committee of Members, Creative & Production Teams and Body of Volunteers. Board meetings are held 4-5 times a year in Falkirk.
Please note that this is a voluntary role. The Trustees do not receive remuneration for the role, however expenses incurred in carrying board duties will be fully reimbursed.
Project Theatre values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and black and minority ethnic candidates, as they are currently under-represented on our Board.
