Why Volunteer?
Project Theatre is defined by our people and as a volunteer you become an integral part of our work. We know that there are lots of factors that motivate people to volunteer and we try to give everyone a rewarding experience whatever their reasons – to learn new skills, give something back, develop a career, get involved with local community, make use of existing skills, increase experience or meet new people.
We recognise that everyone has many other commitments in their lives, so we provide flexible volunteering opportunities. We have a support system in place dedicated specifically to our volunteers, and we encourage an open-door policy so that volunteers can come and talk to someone if they need to.
Becoming a Project Theatre Volunteer means giving your time to a truly worthwhile cause. Across all departments, Project Theatre relies on the dedication and support of its volunteers.
If you are looking to move to a career involving children and young people, and particularly in the creative/performing arts, getting involved with us either through paid roles or volunteering is a great way to demonstrate your experience. We can work with you to keep a record of your work and provide a reference if required.
We are proud to have pledged ourselves to the Volunteer Scotland Volunteer Charter and Project Theatre has is a registered Volunteer Charer Champion. This Charter sets out the 10 key principles for assuring legitimacy and preventing exploitation of workers and volunteers.
