Passionate. Positive. Performance.

About us

Founded in 2008, we are an award-winning charity providing a platform for performing arts for young people and our communities across Falkirk and beyond.

Under the artistic direction of our founder Jamie O'Rourke, classes & activities are divided into these strands:

Film and digital, Holiday camps, Stage School, Tuition and Youth Theatre

We provide quality performing arts training and experiences with the power of potential at the heart of everything we do. Our diverse, ambitious organisation is always seeking to push what’s possible through creative and innovative approaches, audience development and educational and community outreach.

  • Our mission is to be a platform empowering young people in performing arts within our communities and beyond through quality classes, productions and community outreach. We strive to be a launchpad for creativity, talent and community connection.

    Our aims:

To provide a supportive and safe environment for young people to engage in high quality performing arts related activities on a regular basis.

To encourage and facilitate the development of skills related to performing arts through classes and workshops.

To provide opportunities for all members to take part in regular productions and performances.

To give members the opportunity to take part in additional experiences and events.

    • To provide a place for people with an interest in performing arts; drama, music, dance to meet, make friends and have fun.

    • Work with other organisations to exchange information and work on joint projects.

    • Take part in activities which promote good practice in youth arts and for the benefit of the community.

  • Accessibility – We believe that everyone should have access to the arts and do the upmost to ensure our activities are for everyone as much as possible.

Performance – We believe in giving our students as many opportunities to perform through musicals, plays, dance performances, summer courses, and one-off opportunities including outdoor performance.

Professionalism – We believe in training young individuals with the necessary skills to develop them into well-equipped performers prepared for the creative and performing arts industry or further and higher education if that is where they are headed as well as vital skills for lifelong learning and development.

Individuality – One of the most important things at PT is to be yourself. We aim to bring out the best in each of our students whilst never being ashamed to be who they truly are.

  • The mental and physical health and wellbeing of everyone we work with is at the heart of everything we do.

As such we are developing a holistic strategy as well a policy we have in place to embed, promote and support good mental and physical health within all of our activities.

Working with our students, members, parents, families, staff, volunteers and other partners and stakeholders we will shortly publish this strategy and related toolkits and media resources.

  • What Parents say:

"Project Theatre has really helped with Katie’s confidence in singing. Katie was scared to sing in front of people due to a negative comment in the past, but Project Theatre embraced her and slowly built her confidence back up to the extent she had a solo part in the last show. Now she loves to sing and is no longer the shy scared little girl and wow what a voice. Her acting has also improved greatly. Such and amazing positive group to be part of. Thanks to everyone involved."

    Paula - Parent

"My daughter thoroughly enjoys Project Theatre – she has been attending for the last couple of years, as a mother I try and help out when I can but its all fun and a really nice group of people. Its great fun for your children and they gain lots of experience and fun. Polly has enjoyed all the workshops and has developed greatly with the various dancing, singing and action lessons… the kids love the annual show and all work really hard, I would have no hesitation in recommending your child joins Project Theatre."
