Project Theatre was established in 2008 and has created over 20 productions and performances and has held over 30 workshops and training programmes and projects for members, staff and volunteers.
Being a theatre without walls and building-free so far, we have presented a wide variety of work in all aspects of performing arts from acting, playwriting and singing to dance and physical theatre that ranges from large-scale productions in large venues to projects tailored to the smallest performing spaces.
In addition to conventional theatre spaces, we have performed in town centres, community centres and outside in parks and walled gardens.
Our varied productions have included everything from musicals such as Back to the 80s and Wizard of Oz to One Act Plays in competitions and festivals and part scripted and devised performances and dance showcases such as Around the World.
Project Theatre creates performances, productions and opportunities through our four brances; Youth Theatre, Inov8 Dance Theatre, Summer Drama and Collective and much of our work and its planning and delivery is in partnership with theatre-makers, companies, venues and participants.
From extraordinary projects with communities and residential Summer camps to the ground-breaking online 5 Minute Theatre in 2011 to devised contemporary pieces such as Connection in 2016, Project Theatre’s aspiration is to provide quality performances opportunities for all young people, show audiences something they are familiar with and something completely different and add substantial benefit to the local creative community.
In Just 10 years we think we have achieved just that and a lot more!
We are all very excited to celebrate our 10th year in style and we hope you will share this year with us and join us to see and shape what the future holds!
